Matt's other business is fit20, a personal training studio at Fox Valley, Stocksbridge.

fit20 is an intensive training method performed for just 20 minutes, once per week under the guidance of a personal trainer. The weekly training is by appointment, and can be completed in your regular clothes. You train one-to-one with a fit20 personal trainer, or together with a regular training partner. fit20 gives you quick results and is easy to sustain, so you can enjoy the benefits of better health and fitness for years to come.

Here’s what Matt says of his fit20 experience:

“Going to the gym and strength training has been a big part of my life. I joined my first gym at 16 and had regularly trained until 2016. At that time life became busy. My first son was born and I consciously quit the gym due to the time constraints of family life and working full time. There was also an element of ‘rose tinted glasses’ - for a while I thought that yoga was all I needed! However, approaching my late 30’s and a couple of years before my second son was born, I noticed I had started to lose strength.

I was a customer before I took over the studio at Fox Valley. Joining fit20 helped me get my strength back and more: my energy levels are much better, my posture has improved and I feel great after training! The weekly 20 minute appointment fits so well into my busy lifestyle. I was sceptical at first, but it really works! I saw how well it complimented my daily yoga practice and took over the business here in summer 2019.

I was grateful that I found fit20 at just the right time”.

Are you curious? Or, like me originally, don't believe that fit20 really works in just 20 minutes a week?

Mel Wright Massage Therapy works with private clients, operating from their Treatment Room in Barnsley, as a mobile service covering most parts of Barnsley, Wakefield, Pontefract, Doncaster and Rotherham and with corporate clients across Yorkshire taking their service into the workplace for the joint benefit of employees and the company.

Following an arm injury in 2005 Mel discovered Deep Tissue Massage and found it worked for him in a way other types of treatment didn’t. It was this experience that inspired him to qualify as a Massage Therapist and share the benefits that massage therapy has to offer.  Mel’s approach to your treatment is two-fold; he’ll keep it simple and clear when communicating with you, not blind you with science and jargon and he’ll listen, not just to what you say you need from a treatment, but the feedback he’s getting from your body throughout the treatment.

Whatever your needs, from a general all-over firm feel good massage, to improved flexibility, relief from sore and aching muscles, enhanced performance, alleviation of lingering pain and repetitive strain injuries, Mel Wright Massage Therapy has a treatment to suit your needs, offering Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage and their unique Top-To-Toe Relaxation Massage.
